Chicago- State Representative Jaime M. Andrade, Jr. is hosting his first free Paper Shredding & Electronics Recycling event of the year on Saturday, March 19 from 9AM-1130AM (or until truck reaches capacity) at DePaul College Prep, 3300 N. Campbell.

Neighbors are asked to remain in their vehicle during the event and staff will unload materials for them, and they are advised to please remove anything that may jam the paper shredder, like paper, binder clips, or rubberbands.

Those participating in the free environmentally friendly electronic recycling can dispose of most electronics including: monitors, computers, laptops, game systems, printers, cell phones, stereos, toasters, blenders, cables, and 1 TV per family.

“This is a great way for neighbors to safely dispose of sensitive medical, personal, and financial paperwork, which you should always do,  at no cost,” Andrade said.  “Plus it’s a great way for neighbors to safely dispose of sensitive paperwork and to get rid of clunky electronics for spring cleaning in an environmentally friendly way.”

The “St. Patrick’s Shred” event is hosted in collaboration with the Office of Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart and DePaul College Prep. Anyone with questions should contact State Rep. Jaime Andrade’s office at 773-267-2880 or info@staterep40.com.
